CLEAPSS Supporting practical science and technology

Membership

Are YOU eligible to use the CLEAPSS services?

If you work in school-level education in the UK almost certainly the answer is yes.

All of the local authorities responsible for education in England, Wales, Northern Ireland, and the off-shore islands are members. So ALL their schools are members and all their staff can use CLEAPSS services.

In Scotland, SSERC has a similar role to CLEAPSS and there are some reciprocal arrangements,  www.sserc.org.uk.

In addition to local authority membership, there are around 2000 associate members in the UK, including:

    • foundation and voluntary aided schools (where not a member via a local authority),
    • independent schools (including academies),
    • incorporated colleges,
    • teacher-training establishments,
    • field centres, museums, etc,
    • curriculum developers.

There are also a number of overseas associate members (including international schools and teacher-training organisations).

If you are unsure whether your establishment is a member of CLEAPSS, ask your colleagues or e-mail us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , being sure to give the name and full postal address of the establishment where you work.

If you know that you are NOT a member but want membership details and an application form, please select from one of the articles in this section for associate membership (for schools) or adviser associate membership (for science or technology advisers to schools).
