CLEAPSS courses for secondary schools

CLEAPSS typically runs about 200 courses per year around the country, mostly one day. These may be for teachers, technicians or local authority officers.

The following lists the main courses run. Click on each to find out more information about the course content and/or to find the dates and venues of forthcoming courses. Note that the information given is the content of the course as usually run. Sometimes, there are minor changes at the request of the organiser. Courses can often be modified for a particular audience, eg, middle or prep. schools.

If there is no course on a topic you are interested in, or none in your area, we may be able to arrange one. If you are in a local authority school, in the first instance contact your local science adviser (or equivalent). Otherwise, contact CLEAPSS. We may ask whether your school would be prepared to act as host.

Some courses are run at the request of a local authority, or groups of local authorities. In such cases the authority chooses the venue and takes the bookings. The cost of such courses varies. It is usually determined by the course organiser and outside CLEAPSS control. Usually we don't even know what the authority will charge and this sometimes varies between its own schools and others. If you are interested in a place on such a course, or to find out more details, you will need to phone the authority's Contact Person. To find out who to contact, phone or send us an email at courses@cleapss.org.uk.

A smaller number of courses are directly organised by CLEAPSS. These cost £75 to CLEAPSS members and £150 to non-member establishments. To find out more details about these courses, phone or send us an email at courses@cleapss.org.uk.
